Darkside

Darkside is the first post-pandemic University Theatre production since the campus closed nine months ago. For a few brief weeks in September, anxious for the opportunity of artistic togetherness, our company returned to campus to rehearse and film Mr. Stoppard’s play that asks “What is the good?” The strictures of social distancing, time and facility limitations, and complex health safety requirements weighed heavily on my directorial choices, but also inspired my imagination toward a fresh merging of forms. I am grateful for the trust and courage of my Theatre & Dance Department students and colleagues who ventured with me into this new normal. To the audience, thank you for joining us virtually—may we all be together, sure and strong, very soon!
